RCIA - Adults and Children

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults are weekly sessions for adults seeking to join the Catholic Faith.  This includes the unbaptized and those baptized in another faith, as well as baptized Catholics who have not received the Sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation or Confirmation.  For more information or to register, please contact Irene Hronicek at email ihronicek@surewest.net (English) or call Angelita Carrillo at (916) 817-0965 (Spanish).

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults - Adapted for Children

RCIA-Adapted for Children, commonly referred to as RCIC, are bi-weekly sessions for children seeking to join the Catholic Faith or to complete their sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist).  Baptized Catholic children who are seven years old or older who have not received the Sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation and Confirmation are requested to attend grade-appropriate faith formation classes until the sixth grade.  They are then enrolled in the Right of Christian Initiation for Adults-Adapted for Children and prepared to complete their sacraments of initiation.  Sessions meet through the school year, and children attend with a parent for a minimum of two years.
